My name is Daniela Remane and I was born in Jena, Germany, in 1981, where I also went to elementary school and high school. After a year abroad I started studying pharmacy at the Friedrich-Schiller University in Jena, Germany, in 2001 and obtained the licence to practice as a pharmacist in 2007.
After completing my diploma theses I started working as a research assistant and PhD student of Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Hans H. Maurer in the Department of Experimental and Clinical Toxicology of the Saarland University in Homburg, Germany. There I was able to learn a lot about the GC-MS and LC-MS with special focus on clinical as well as forensic toxicology. I was also a part of the team doing routine clinical services. After publishing some of my research result, for examples about matrix effects, sample preparation, and drug libraries, I finally finished my PhD thesis about the development of a multi-analyte LC-MS/MS procedure for the quantification of plasma in March 2011.
I am actually working as toxicologist in the Forensic and Clinical Toxicology lab at the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the University Hospital in Jena, Germany. My daily focus lies in forensics with its complexity but as part of the team of PD Dr. Frank T. Peters I also do ruoitne toxicology service using all different kinds of analyzing techniques.
