Clinical impact of LCMS and drug libraries
After a definition of the term drug library and a short excursion into history this lecture will spotlight the libraries using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. It will give an overview of the so far published/ available libraries and tries to classify those according to the targets used and the mass spectrometry (MS)technique used, such as single stage MS, tandem in time MS, tandem in space MS, low resolution MS, and high resolution MS. Furthermore, the pros and cons of the different libraries will be discussed with special focus of the acquisition used search algorithm and available software.
